Light Posts and More Windows!

Light posts are now up in the west garden.  This picture came from Yuki Dorff this afternoon.
I thought it would help to zoom in on the periscopes near the mechanical building, but it didn't.
Matthew Taylor was at the site Friday when the first light pole was erected and took some pictures for us.
I had no idea these posts were even on the way.
Can you see the gap in the construction fence?
This picture through the gap gives us a good idea of where ground level is.
Matthew also captured a picture of our lone mason, still building the watercourse on the wall around the front of the mechanical building.
Lee Cowan told me that the plastic is up just while the painters finish the steeple, now that the tower windows are in.
He took pictures of these windows being lifted up on the east side.
Lee thinks these particular windows are for the towers, based on their shape.
I hope we see them going in soon.
The original tabernacle windows were frosted, but art glass replaced those in 1917.
Wooden assemblies protect the glass and insulate the windows.
While Lee was on the east side, he took this picture.  It is nice to see trim being installed on this gable.
Lee also took this picture from Second South so we could see the progress on the garage entrance.
Lee captured this photo of the roof on saw horses where it sat all weekend.  Not only has this gablet been put back in place, but the roof of the west gablet is also in place.  Hopefully all four will stay put.
Maybe it won't be too long before we see glass in the pavilion.  Maybe.
Yuki took this last picture where we can see light posts in the north lot.  Lots of progress!

A big thank you to Yuki and Lee!

The lamp posts are very victorian looking. I can almost picture gas flames flickering inside them, which makes me wonder what color bulbs they'll actually have. I love how everything on this temple all ties together and keeps consistent with the historic preservation of the original building. The pavillion, the windows, the fountains, the landscaping, the moldings, everything.

My guess is that the periscopes are fence posts waiting to go in.

Jacob makes a good point. Perhaps even the exterior lighting should have yellow color temperature, to give it a gaslit feel? That could be rather interesting. At the very least, they should do yellow tint on the lamposts.

I don't think they will for either though. Probably white color temp.

Also, I agree with Daniel on the Fenceposts!

Actually I think the periscopes are the lamps posts themselves, the ones that haven't been installed yet. The fat part at the bottom are probably the bases, and the tops are probably in separate packaging.

Light posts are a much more reasonable guess than periscopes, for sure. Thanks.

Thanks for your posts! I look forward to each one!

Scratch that, Jacobs definitely right about the light posts. There are scraps of opened boxes visible by the mechanical building. And since no fences are up yet...I'd say he's right.

Yeah, I never thought of that! We have even been watching the lamposts go in! I feel silly, that is so obvious now!

So I'm not the only one wondering how I missed that...
